New here - can we call out companies not to work for?

I've been interviewing a lot recently and I've been shocked at the quality of recruiting. Internal recruiters barely know what the job is. Turning up late without apology is a regular occurance. Once you get further in the process some of the questions I've been asked are ridiculous. Behavioural questioning seems to be the norm these days, however only one company has asked me an actual sales question!!! I'm a little disillusioned with recruitment processes at the moment among other things. Anyone else feeling the same?

I had to take an aptitude test similar to the GRE/SAT for a sales role.

I told the recruiter after passing me along that the process is cumbersome and unnecessary and only slows hiring.

She said it's "company culture" or some bullshit along that line. Definitely a shitty recruiting process, especially for sales.

Had that recently too. Not sure what’s to be gained by that stuff. Completed a psychometric test in which I was asked “do you hurt the ones you love?”. I’m applying for a sales role not a nursing role.

I can tell you from my interview with a higher up at Rokit, it’s not a company you want to work for. I’ve heard it’s top down & from my interview…well let’s just say that I’ve never said ‘nevermind’ in the middle of an interview…until them.

The first part of the process can be a challenge, but I'd be much more concerned if you had issues when you got to the hiring manager.

Been doing interviews as well recently and totally agree. Frusturating when you go through three rounds of interviewing and have essentially the same questions asked each round. No excuse for talking to hiring sales managers/ Sales VP’s and only getting questions like “tell me about a time you failed!”

“Tell me about a time you experienced conflict”, “tell me the best feedback you’ve ever had”, what does anyone learn from these same questions? We all know they are coming and have prepared answers.

I don't even look at job interviews for sales jobs as a regular job interview.  I just bring about 15-20 questions that I want THEM to answer and I moreso interview THEM for the chance to hire ME.

Especially because references are rarely contacted these days

Dell technologies. Company survives because it’s number 1 in the market place. Horrible place if you’re a sales rep. They have let go all of their senior reps and are replacing with newer reps at lower pay

It is a goat fuck out there. Recruiters are for the most part the D students of the workforce, add little value and bloat/delay the process. As for personality tests, culture fit and all of the other horseshit, hard pass.

And yes, we should absolutely be calling out companies not to work for not just because of a heinous, misguided hiring process, but for management jerkoffs who don't know how to run sales teams, for stiffing on owed commissions post termination and for bad sales practices.

Rhymes with brodoor. In the final interview they said the comp plan changed but didn’t know how or by how much. There were a bunch of issues before but that was my breaking point.
