New league

I have always been in sales, I learned to love it, hate it, get frustrated, excited, all on my own. I have always sold everything, food, shoes, cars, houses, basically everything that they give me the opportunity.

Currently a friend wants to try to hook me up in a company as a salesperson and it would be a more professional environment but I am afraid of not meeting his expectations.

Would you take the risk? tips? avice?

Well it depends, what are you currently doing?

Is your only hesitations not meeting expectations?

If thatโ€™s your only hesitation, ask about training and ways they will help you succeed. I would ask about there 30-60-90, is there a ramp up quota, and what is the quota. What % of reps are hitting quota

I would look at the academy for tips on selecting and starting your first role

Surely your friend wouldnโ€™t recommend you if he or she didnโ€™t think you could do it. Make sure you ask a lot of questions from the hiring manager and others at the company (as we recommend to anyone looking at a new role ) and make sure the job is good for you. If everything sounds good, take the position, and then do your best to live up to expectations. Sounds honestly like you may be the most demanding critic!

Yes, maybe that's why I doubt, I don't want to let my friend down even though I know he believes in me

What are your friendโ€™s expectations and why do you think you wonโ€™t meet them? Have you shared your concerns with your friend?

I would say that a true friend would actually tell you that they DONโ€™T support you jumping in if they think youโ€™ll fail. Anyone can just say โ€œyou can do it!โ€, but a friend will tell you if they have concerns. Do you believe this friend tells you the whole truth? If so, go for it!

it totally depends on a lot of factors.

BUT without knowing the details, yes take it.

if you want to make sales a career getting into a professional environment is a great way to make it a bit easier.

assuming there is good leadership, good product, good base salary and compensation plan, then take it!

What are you doing now?/how much do you make doing it?

Well, I would say to pick up the chance if the field you'll be getting to was one of the fields you did good at before!!
If not it could be somehow risky!!

Take the risk. Regardless of how it turns out, you take the risk on yourself. It will push your limits and you will learn. Hopefully, it works out otherwise, use the information to find a position that better fits your skill set.
