New to Bravado

I'm brand new to Bravado but very excited to get my feet wet.

My current role is proving to be less exciting than discussed. 90 days in and I'm yet to earn any commission. Despite a wealth of tools and resources, the product is much more difficult to position that I was lead to believe and it seems to be a unanimous opinion throughout the organization.

I'm on the fence about leaving as I've put in so much work to get up to speed and start building out outbound processes - but if the right opportunity presents itself, I would have hard time saying no.

Looking for advice - or a new role

No amount of process can fix a bad product

Not necessarily a bad product, just very niche and most of the current opportunities come through our inbound channels as itโ€™s a specific solution.

go through the past three months of inbound leads, find out what type of company is coming to your website to request a demo. make an excel sheet of every one of their competitors and reach out.

Unless it's a super toxic environment or you were extremely misled, I'd give it a bit more time to see what you can make of it.

Determine your ICP and target people/companies that align.

leave the product out of it. what business problem are you solving? as a bdr it doesn't really matter what the product does, you gotta generate interest in a conversation.

Hi X,
This is what you are doing today (insert article/research)

As a X company, similar to Y who we work with - are you struggling to accomplish Z?

Happy to help elaborate how we've helped Y to do this. How's thursday at 3pm for a quick chat?

in short, it's not about you or your product, it's about them and how you can help. read your blog / case studies --> tell a story --> get a meeting --> harass your AE for credit to get paid

Is anybody there who is in your role currently succeeding? If so, then replicate them. If not, then hopefully another comment helps. Good luck!

If there are customers and they are good then I dont think you need to start looking for a new role, you need to learn how the top performers at your company position and sell said product.

Can you review their calls in Gong/Chorus? Are you able to join any of their demos? Set up time to understand how they run their discovery and position based on what they find out. You need to keep putting in the work.

Selling a complex/niche product takes way more than 90 days to master, dont get discouraged, keep learning and youll get there.

I would not give up after 90 days.
do you have current customers?
What do they look like? go find more companies like them.

understand WHY companies have purchases your product in the past and take that messaging to others.

I wouldn't give up until your 6 month mark to really get a good sample size of what the company is doing for you professionally and personally.
