New to SaaS. New SDR

Recently joined as a senior SDR for a high growing SaaS company. I come from years of selling/consulting for Real Estate where we had long sales cycles and probably around 30 accounts a year to handle and frankly I feel that the pace at which SDRs sell SaaS is pretty ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿคฏ How can someone like me adapt to being this aggressive? I switched industries with the intent to grow and learn about SaaS! But I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed. Help? pls? ๐Ÿฅบ

Transitioning into SaaS can feel daunting, but it's much easier once you embrace one thing: I need to develop new instincts. Real Estate = mandatory, once per decade, massive $, very thoughtful decision. SaaS = nice to have, frequent purchases, smaller ACV, impulsive buys. So the game in SaaS isn't just volume driven, it's also centered around finding the right value prop to unlock a buying instinct in the prospect. Focus on understanding what motivates each of your prospects, how your solution can SPECIFICALLY help them achieve those goals, and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Just be curious about everything. Including your prospects. Things like product knowledge is important, but when you don't know something, be curious about the 'why' instead of the 'what'.ย

Selling SaaS is all about controlling the sales cycle/processโ€ฆ I mean, itโ€™s important in other industries, but Iโ€™ve found it to be most critical in my SaaS selling career.

Organization and always having a next step set.

Learn the industry and leverage your peer's knowledge to build your own "toolbox"- SaaS certainly is a fast-paced environment especially if you're going hardcore on remote/work from home. Make sure you know your product and get surrounded by peak performers to understand the microenvironment of the segment. Best of success Ninja :D

Incremental improvement bro. It wonโ€™t happen overnight. You ย are going to kill it one day and feel worthless the next. Patience isnโ€™t my virtue either you just have to stay level headed.

Manage your time effectively. Devote an hour a day to professional growth. Get close with your AE (if they are a performer and have credibility).

Connect and lean on your teammates, both your fellow SDRs, your manager and the AEs. The day to day will come with time. Every Saas XDR in this community will tell you that their first couple months were absolutely brutal in terms of getting up to pace.ย

Also something that might help is thinking about your day very systematically. Schedule tasks out. For example, 6:30 - 7:00 clean out inbox; 7:00 - 9:30 prospect and so on. You will find what works best for you and then can go from there.ย

Donโ€™t give up. Also donโ€™t quit if you arenโ€™t promoted to AE in 12-18 months. Be a sponge and have an eagerness to learn and get better ..

Absolutely @whissspy! Kinda sucks to be at a WFH setting when youโ€™re new. Have to make that extra effort to talk to team mates and other folks but I should do that tho ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ
