Be nice, but be authentic. If you don’t jive with something, just don’t engage or don’t waste your energy on it!

Lol but for real there are too many people shouting into the void of Linkedin with things I don't care about.

Then don't 🤷‍♂️

Real potential in it hurting your personal/business relationships if you go through with it, though.

This sounds like you need to take week or two and just disconnect. Having interest in people and their lives is not only a way to really improve your sales game, it is great for life in general.

1. U r right, I am exhausted and need the time off to recoup2. I like learning about ppl - the trigger was non ending aspiration quotes, that I cant stand anymore
3. I am calmer today and can be ok with listening to vacation plans (kids are still annoying)

Aspirational quotes can definitely work your last nerve.

The rest - people getting excited about their lives? I'm in for it.

But Live. Laugh. Love. stuff? Blech.

I am a full blown introvert and hate small talk. I have been great at avoiding it in my sales career, and it was actually a major part of my book. My favorite "relationship building" line is simply "I don't want to waste your time and I will get right to the point".

There’s been a ton of clout chasing lately on social. It’s exhausting. Thanks for keeping it real.

I am a full-blown hide-in-the-basement introvert, and nothing annoys me more than small talk. My favorite icebreaker is simply "let me get right to the point because I know you are busy."

With that said, I still need to do inspirational post, pictures of my daughter, and talk about vacations because that is what people want to see. Stupid inspirational posts on LinkedIn get a lot of traffic. Same thing with selfies and pictures of kids.

I look at it all like a bug zapper. They are the bright light to bring people in, then I can "zap" the people I do not want to work with.

Doesn't mean I like it.
