NLP: Neuro Linguistic Programming in sales.

Anybody here using NLP in sales? I have read some books about it and some people seem to use it very effectively in sales. It would be nice to meet someone who actively performs this technique.

It has to do with emotional intelligence. Understanding the prospects' idiosyncracies and using words and gestures to shape the conversation towards a profitable outcome with sales in mind. In layman's terms, Jedi Mind tricks of the world's best sales people

Got into NLP shortly after highschool. I use it in all face to face meetings as well as in office politics. Rule 1 of NLP. Don't tell people about it.

Tony Robbins is a master practitioner of NLP and pretty much a professional hypnotist. NLP is also the study of language patterns. It was first developed at UC Santa Cruz. You can go down many rabbit holes if you start with the first book written on NLP but it take years to learn and master. I’d spend more time on learning your product and customer pain points to help solve problems. NLP won’t help you with that!

It works the best when you meet the client face to face but I’m not sure how to apply it to online sales.

NLP is fantastic in sales. It helps with your mentality (like being able to use anchoring to trigger a confident state on demand) as well as with persuading the other person.

Cole Gordon is the only salesperson I know who has thoroughly integrated the best of sales advice with the best of NLP in a non-clunky way.
