Around this time last year I started getting multiple phone calls a week from Northwestern Mutual trying to set up a conversation. I tend to give cold callers the time of day because we owe it to each other, right?
Told them I needed a fiduciary and asked if they had any and they said “We have a fiduciary duty!” and BS detector started going off. Asked them how much an hour long consultation is (fiduciaries charge for their time) and they said “Oh it’s free!” BS alarm continues going off. Tell them that I’m not interested but that I appreciate the call.
This little shit then puts time on my calendar - I don’t know how he even got my email! I decline and tell them via email again that I was not interested.
Now fast forward a year later and I’m getting at least a call every other day from them. What gives with this company? I can throw my money in VTSAX and FAANG stocks/options and make a killing, why are they so intent on selling me this “whole life” stuff?
