Not all of my posts are about marketing but this one is.

Just got messaged by our marketing team and told I had a hot lead incoming.


This is what turned up. No I am not kidding. This is 'Hot', 'Spicy', 'Fuego', Not for pre-watershed, Leads Gone Wild, The Lead of Wallstreet, The Lead Driver, Lead me baby one more time.


I queried the hotness of their lead.


They said its an MQL as it has an email and a name.


You fricking what now?


If anyone needs me I'll be screaming into the void.


P.S for the one negative nelly who's going to come in here and say 'SaLeS ShOuLdNt ReLy On MaRkEtInG, bAcK iN My dAy I wAs LuCkY iF tHeY diDn't StAb mE WheN I CaLLeD.' - Yes I do my own prospecting as well.

Something horrifyingly similar happened to me years ago.ย  Terrible lead, shaky qualification...and it turned into a solid deal, and aย  long term absolutely loyal customer.ย  ย After that, I bitched about leads internally.
