I think just being able to talk to, listen, read and understand people and the deeper motivations behind their words, actions, body language etc. In sales you just learn to have better conversations ya know? It's like you are one step ahead when you are talking to your banker, advisor, lawn guy, other sales people, your wife..etc
It is interesting how you "see" conversation with a different perspective... very true.
Personality by a landslide- no one buys anything from someone they don’t like or trust
Like and trust is huge, however, is does depend upon the situation. For what I believe you are selling - 100%. How has that helped you outside of business?

And that continues to develop... however, guard against forgetting the basics.
I've become super observant and learned to mirror and adapt fast.
Active listening takes it to a whole 'notha level. Been using this with the wife ever since and it is a game-changer.
Also, focus on solving the client's problem rather than just pushing product/service. Learn what they do and find out what makes them hurt and how you can fix it, they will then sing your praises to all who will listen.
