Numbers, numbers, numbers. Currently- my team is at 97% top line and 112% profit. Was told need to develop a plan to get over 100%. Have to forecast for rest of year as well. Just venting. Your only as good as your last month.

I feel you. I don’t miss that month to month life at all, but having annual budgets isn’t any different. When an old manager was asking me for some numbers I brought up how I had sold X amount over quota last time and he replied “what have you done for me lately?” Lmao. So just flip it and ask yourself what have you done for yourself lately.

There it is, life in sales. At least you're not trying to come up with 15-20% light.

You’re as good as your last month : true for sports, true for sales.

Leadership obviously does not get it. We are paid for results. 112% profit! Scoreboard. Companies that are focused on top line are on a path to failure. They would rather have a rep bring in $1,000,000 with $100,000 profit as opposed to a rep brining in $500,000 at 50% profit. They are idiots. And I bet their comp plan is based on stock price...

I can relate. I sold $100k in product in a 8hr shift a few months back. While semi bragging to my manager, his response was “ that’s a great day, but it’s going to be hard to beat that tomorrow”.

Do you have to do comp corrections at the end of every sales month because the reporting and finance team never get it right?

What’s the best companies to reach out to for SDR / BDR roles for a career changer looking for solid base comp and decent OTE (financial advisor made 120k last year 3 years hit quota every year cold calling running the sales process so I think I have relevant AE skills but I get taking a step down since I have no SAAS sales skills. (However I have 1.5 years of IT recruiting experience where I also crushed quota and learned a bit about IT broadly) Thanks
