Just tell them you got it from Zoom-info. They put it out there and should not be surprised.

Appreciate the insight @BigMeech- also I noticed that your vehicle's warranty is nearly expired, and you won an all expenses stay at Marriott for 6 days and 7 nights.ย  All I need is your social and your date of birth ๐Ÿ˜‰

I only ever try to call cell phones. Why go through a gatekeeper when you don't have to with a cell?

Not only should you, but you HAVE to nowadays. Everyone is working from home, their direct numbers don't go anywhere. The Zoominfo numbers too...they get them from email signatures and their research team. They've been used for business at some point.ย

I only call cell phones. Gatekeepers mostly slow you down- it's best to go straight to the source.

Agreed! However, thereโ€™s ways to get around the gate keeper. I typically say, โ€œI'm the prospects sales repโ€ as if I already have a relationship.ย

Technically not lying. As Iโ€™m the only person they can talk to for our product/service. Means to an end!ย

at this point i say we have nothing to lose plus no one says they have to answer.ย  I say with respect in the process the cell is fair game.ย

It's fine. I used to be hesitant, but if someone is putting their cell in their email signature/online that's saying they're fine with people calling it for business purposes. It would be an overstep to call their personal cell that they don't have posted anywhere though.

The 2021 tech stack includes access to cell numbers, even if scraped from email sigs.ย  I think it's close to par for the course for those in positions that make them cold-callable lol

Cold Call a Cell Phone = Yes. Cold Text = NO. Texts should be reserved for someone who has openly given their cellphone number to you and you have an ongoing relationship/sales cycle with. Anything else is SPAM and gives us all a bad name.

Cell numbers move the needle. Be upfront w/ where you got their number if they ask (zoom info) and just ask permission for their time before you jump into your pitchย

Post-Pandemic, no one should be upset about this. Everyone was working from home and only a handful of companies re-routed their office numbers to cell, so cell is the standard now.ย

Think about it like this --> It's already a "No" so why not call and flip that to a "Yes".ย

I call cell phones all day every day. Pre-pandemic I think it was a bit more iffy and can depend on the audience you are calling. Post pandemic it seems like everyone has normalized using cellphones for business.ย

Sold into a more SMB sales cycle for the longest time and the business owners actually preferred this (as well as text). Sometimes it was the only way to get ahold of them and get past lower-level office gatekeepers that screened calls all day -- that and they were never in the office (going to different branches, working from home, different hours, etc).

C-suite...less inclined to do the cell, but it definitely worked a few times when you're honest and upfront about where you got the info. For example, "I pulled your number off Linkedin."

I did get a fairly good MM deal $50k from cold-calling a CLO on a Friday afternoon. He was around my age (early 30's) and actually had some time to talk because he didn't want to come in early Monday.
