I'm probably around a 2-3 which I'm cool with and can appreciate. I wouldn't like more and any less I'd most likely feel underappreciated..

I resonate with this. My supervisor is hands-on but lengthens the leash as experience is built.

1 - I talk to my head of sale 1 or two times a week tops. For better or worse he trusts me to drive the results we need.

1.5 they let me do my thing. Only bad part is when I need something it takes a lot of yelling to get it done.

If only they made something like life alert for sales, just hit the button and you get what you need

Shit, I'm barely managed. They just promoted me into a new very highly regulated territory with less than 24 hours notice and said good luck hahah. Just the way I like it

I’d say the first week of the month is a solid 10 then when they worry it’s a solid 3 towards the end of the month. Micro management is shit.

My personal believe here is that most folks who believe they are micro managed are really just being managed, and are generally not coachable. Folks who say things like “I hit my number, I just want to be left alone”, etc. Process drives consistency in hour paycheck and target achievement.

My manager, is the CEO and he’s pretty hands off - but there are times where I actually prefer to be managed more directly.

1. I asked for feedback/coaching and my VP questioned why (genuine curiosity), told me you couldn't hire my skill set, and that he doesn't like to coach because it bothers him when people do it to him.

This isn't meant to be douchebraggery. Legit conversation that frustrated me. I want to be better tell me how!

Also even as far removed as he is. He's always fighting ELT and the board on my behalf. Great VP to have. Just need development externally

Wouldn’t this demotivate the ones on the "losers list"? We have employee of the month, but not "worse performer"

If Sales is a meritocracy and we all have the same expectation to produce, why is the so much talk about pay equity/inequality in sales? Shouldn't the meritocracy part be an equalizer?
