Onboarding SDR’s remotely

Question

I’m in the process of chalking out an onboarding guide/ process for SDR’s remotely. I’m relatively new to this and trying to transition to leadership from being an AE.

Additional context: We’re a growth stage startup scaling the sales team from 1 to 4 in the next month. We use Wingman for conversation intelligence and I plan on leveraging this during the onboarding too.

I’d love to hear if any of y’all have gone through this process and how things played out.

I've been thinking about how difficult the current climate must be for SDRs and SDR leaders a lot lately. There were many days that the collaborative nature of the pit kept me going, and I can't imagine not having that.

Work for a fully remote company 1300+ employees. We followed a wiki for our onboarding, it was..quiet to say the least. Exceptionally self-paced.

We have been onboarding remotely since the start. built the team during the pandemic and onboarded 6, which was a bit rocky to start, but over time it has turned into a much smoother process. We have onboarding another 4 and looking to onboard 4 in the near future. once you do it a few times, you'll see where the issues are and be able to get past them easily. just don't expect your first time to go great. have a set plan day by day and you should be fine. IT set up (email, accesses, etc.) is the biggest hurdle.
