I am a little confused. How can the sales team be 'Out of sight, out of mind'? At the risk of sounding cocky, I don't think sales teams can go out of mind. Most companies (startups or not) have keen eye on the CSM teams for cross sells and the sales teams for new business.

If it's about out of touch sales managers - yeah, you'll find them in herds out there.

So I think we need more context as to what you're saying.

I agree with @ThatNewAE without context it is a little confusing because what could be more important to a business that more net new revenue?

I've worked at a company where the CEO has expressly stated in the past they don't want a sales team (thought a self serve model would be fine). They exist

Plenty of absentee managers out there, if that's what you're referring to. If you aren't getting what you need to do your job, or you aren't being paid properly, or are not doing well, yes, look.

you need to provide a TON more details here homie.
But from that 2 sentence post, i would say look else ware.

anytime you are underpaid or undervalued is a good sign to leave.

I somehow know what you mean. I worked for a company that thought the sales team was a nice to have, but they had all the new logos that they really could stomach right now. So the CS team was seen as the real winners. Not a good arrangement for quotas, advancement, etc. I personally waited too long to leave.

No sales team is 100% out of sight/mind. Managers often have other concerns.

When you're dealing with this situation - feeling isolated - you need to ask "Do I really want my manager's constant attention? Is that good for me?" Or are you happier just putting your head down and doing your job without a manager's interference?

I'd leave unless I was getting paid too much.
