Overtime Violation Settlement

I just got a letter that my previous employer is settling an FLSA overtime misclassification lawsuit and everybody who had been employed in sales there is getting a sizable chunk of change. So that's cool,

That said, the settlelent notes that the employer denies the allegations, despite deciding to settle outside of court for XXXX dollars. Typical.

Not sure if I'm cool with letting them get away with denying allegations, to be honest. They'd be able to sweep their toxic culture under the rug, and future potential employees would never know about the culture that is absolutely still going on there.

Not asking for legal advice, just wanted to get some opinions.

Just bury them in negative feedback and move on. Smart people will see that and know not to look there. Sounds like it wouldn't be worth your time to go any deeper.

Take the cash and leave it go IMO. What will it cost you to chase this? Plus nobody will really hear about it anyway. They'll just post "does anybody work at company x?" on WR instead of actually researching the place.

If you're going to take the money and then blast them on glassdoor or Repvue then leave the review before taking the money. Otherwise, you'll likely violate the non-disclosure terms of the settlement.

Take the money.   The rest will get sorted out.   You can do what others have suggested and leave a Glassdoor review.  Other than that, you've moved on, fortunately.  Enjoy the unexpected windfall.

Does the settlement info show up if you Google the company? That should be enough. Take the cash and go.

Got the same thing recently! Curious if it’s the same company!! But I’m just gonna take the cash (if it ever comes) and go. I’ve moved on from the company and no sense spending any extra time/energy on them.
