Paid Recruiters

Has anyone used a paid recruiter for job search?

Recently resigned from my VP of Sales role to take a time out and do something else, Trying to take rifle shots on specifically where and the type of organization I want to lead next.

Any thoughts or experience? If so, any referrals that worked well for you?

Never pay a recruiter as a candidate.

It took me a second to process that this is what the post was about.

That's so messed up on so many levels, and a serious conflict of interest.

Straight up illegal in some states for a candidate to pay a recruiter, as you are essentially buying your way into the job.

Most recruiters get paid only by the employer, not the employee. Save your money.

All the recruiters I have ever used are the types where the employer pays.

this should be the way. Look for recruiters that specialize in placing VPs. they are normally retained by companies.

good luck out there!

Market is way too hot right now to need to pay a recruiter to find you a job. The companies trying to fill these roles have more demand for talent than the talent that exists out there. You should also have a LinkedIn inbox full of recruiter messages. Never pay someone to find you a job. Use your network. Your network is your net worth.

Definitely not and don't do this. Company should be paying the recruiter to headhunt for them. The company pays them a % of your first year's salary, you won't pay anything.

I didn't use either of these but had interactions with people and they were class acts, I'd use them in the future. Avenue Talent Partners and Treeline Inc.

If anything, they should pay YOU.
