I just finished watching Painkiller docuseries on Netflix. The docuseries is about Oxycontin, I think being in sales so many things were super creepy.
They hired young, pretty women straight out of college to sell the productย
We see how they make insane amounts of commission. And it's luxury houses and nice bags and penthouses. Commission was based on the doctors upping the dosage
They used extremely aggressive tactics and the objection handling was based on lies and freebies and wining and dining with the doctors
Sales messaging was genius. Just helping people in pain. Low risk of addiction. Based on nothing truthful.
Impact on reputation and society. What happened to all the people and their families and then of course the downfall of the companyย
Pretty crazy because I am not sure if my company always uses objection handling that is based on facts but nothing like this...
Have you watched it? How important is ethics to you?
Sorry if this has been brought up before my search bar wasn't working on the app
