Pay it forward

Just a "be humble" reminder: anytime you grow and become the responsible for signing a deal, remember that you were a salesperson once (or still are, in my case!), and pay it forward. I just wrote to a company I'm signing with:

"[...] Deal!

BTW - I've already worked in sales. If you need me to sign anything before the end of month, let me know, I can sign it tomorrow for you. Best!"


Don't be the asshole that thinks: "People made my life terrible, now it is time for me to torture the younger AEs."

100% agree with this mindset! As a buyer, I will tell you my exact needs, how I want to buy it, and if I want to buy it. If I do end up wanting to buy, I'll tell you how to get the deal done. No secrets, but I don't accept shitty sales-work, either.

Agree. For me to arrive at a deal, it is business as usual. Tough but fair.
But then, when I've decided, I can sign, why not help the AE make quota for the month?ย 

We know the waiting for the docusign, being afraid I'd not be able to count that for the month, or even having to convince my Director to issue an EBNI (Earned but not invoiced)...ย 

If I can help the AE get a good beer during the weekend...ย 

Hell's not a bad place to be!

You negotiated till No Regret Price with Finance dept and he moved forward the quote to Purchase dept. Now purchase team asking for more discount else not processing forward ? How to tackle this ?
