Pay raise

I have been in my current sales manager role for about 8 months now. My base pay so considerably less than some of my AE's im managing. When I accaoeted this position I didn't negotiate as I was coming from a commission only sales job and and an idiot.

With inflation, and being paid well under the industry average I think it's time to have a discussion with my boss.

What type of information would you lead with? Do you use any websites to get a competitive pay analysis? Any tips or advice would be great!

What you've done to warrant it. The team you're managing is producing and Repvue/Glassdoor for your region.

Absolutely this. You need hard figures and data to back up the "why" you should be given a raise.

Data. Use all of the data you have available to you.

Repvue
Glassdoor
Forrester Resarch
etc.

Compile a market report for both where you live and the industry you work in. Show average base and OTE for those in your position and present a number you feel more accurately represents the work that you do.

Repvue for sure. Talk to him and if things don't move forward, you should. All the best!

Unfortunately repvue doesn’t have any management data yet. I’ve looked on Glassdoor but it’s not very specific for the industry..so I’ll do some more digging! We sell marketing for a very large GPS app, (won’t disclose the name) but I work for a company that contracts us with them, AKA vendor team. So that alone makes my pay far less

You need accretive data. 8 months isn’t much time, but go into the system and show how sales and / or pipeline have grown since you’ve been in charge. Talk about any helpful process changes you’ve made and the results from those changes. And of course, research what sales managers with less than 2 years experience in your area and industry tend to make and insist that you get paid that. Be prepared to walk if that’s what it comes to.
End of line.

Justify your request.  Prove your worth - what you've done since you've been in the role and how you've made a positive, tangible impact.

I might also start looking around to see what else is out there and what recruiters can tell you about the comp for similar roles.

first of, prove your worth, than show statistics, what's the avg pay and what you ask as raise.

Begin the conversation by asking your boss what you could do differently (if anything) to fall into the pay bracket that you're hoping to land.

If this conversation does not warrant change, I would suggest looking into other companies within your industry who have a more competitive pay.
