Paycom Recruiter Inmail

How many of these do you get a week from Paycom?

"I hope you had a great weekend! I know you’ve been reached out to by my team and I before, but I really would love the opportunity to discuss Paycom with you. Coming from someone who has worked in, and recruited for, A LOT of sales positions, the Outside Sales Executive role at Paycom is truly unique from anything I have seen.

Beyond the typical selling points (ridiculously high earning potential, world class training, merit based promotions) that you probably see in every message, we also have a few factors that really stand out to me from other companies. These include:

-The opportunity to run the full sales cycle- generation to close

-Zip code protected territories- zero internal competition

-Small sales teams and growth by adding offices, not reps to existing teams

-The only company in our space on the S&P 500 and the country's fastest growing tech company

I would love to elaborate on these and more- are you available for a conversation this week?"

My favorite line is "truly unique from anything I have seen"

"The opportunity to run the full sales cycle- generation to close"

Made me laugh, trying to put a positive spin on the fact that you don't have any SDR support. Maybe I'm missing something here but as an AE I would see that as less of an "opportunity" as I prefer roles with SDR support where I can focus more on closing.

My thoughts exactly. Though there are sales people out there that embrace the grind and want to own the whole cycle, I wouldn't make that part of my pitch.

Definitely. Different strokes for different folks. The chances of this recruiter reaching out to someone that would see that as a plus are pretty slim though.

I think it's good for people who are moving towards a closer-only role from being an SDR. Depends on the KPIs though. Is the company expecting one person to reach the KPIs of an SDR and an AE, basically two full jobs? In that case, hell to the no.

If I got this email after having over 15 years of sales experience I would prolly block the recruiter for not reading my profile.

I haven't received any from Paycom. I know people that worked there and they absolutely hated it.

Ha - I love how "zero internal competition" is a selling factor on a sales job these days.....shouldn't that be just an assumption?

I've gotten those, and I ignored them because I've used Paycom before and it sucks lol
