Paycut for in office role?

Been interviewing for midmarket AE IT SaaS roles. To my surprise, majority of the remote AE roles pay slightly more then the in office AE roles in my area (Atlanta). Are their benefits of going into office 4x week that I'm not seeing? Am I being lazy for perfering a higher paying remote job?

I would need a massive pay premium to go IN to an office.

Are the remote roles based out of cities other than Atlanta? If the companies are based in NYC or SF they're going to be paying salaries that match the average salary in their home cities.

They have been based out of California or Boston

Ya, COL is higher in those places so that would explain it.

That sounds backwards. Commute plus other expenses required for in-office should make non-remote roles pay more. I also now place a premium on having to wake up early and not being able to crawl to my desk.

Maybe the comp for remote includes stipends for internet/phone and office supplies which is why it looks higher.

It’s a personal preference thing but I would not take a pay cut to be in office even if I liked the office.

even if the remote gigs paid less than in office, I would still take that over having to go back to an office.
