Pets... Love 'em but sometimes can be the biggest interruption at the worst time...

How many of y'all have pets working at the home office?

I love having them around for company and well i try as much as possible to keep them away when I'm in video calls, buuuuuut they fall asleep on shelves and I forget and they pop up every now and then.

100%! Kids or pets that pop up in the background suddenly make any call more casual in a good way.

It can be a distraction, depending on the pet, out of my 3 cats there's 1 that's fucking wild, she's the one in the picture, and I have to keep her out when she's running around and literally jumping off walls. They definitely can be a distraction, most of the time they don't interfere too much tho haha

If at this point in the pandemic the person on the other side of your zoom call doesn’t smile and appreciate the WFH pet and children struggles.... 🤯🤯🤯

I have a dog and spend quite a bit of time with my niece and honestly I’ve found the zoom bombs to lower any trust barriers. It’s like a reminder to someone that I’m a human too

The pandemic made things a lot less professional, in the way that it's less shock and more cute if a pet jumps in the middle of a sale.

I agree, even linkedin has become less professional as of late.

I just had my rescue pup neutered... THAT is a headache for staying focused on work. Poor guy is downstairs bumping into everything with the damn cone of shame on.

But when he pops up on calls... usually it's a great AWWW moment and humanizes the interaction just a little bit more.

He's a fan of coming up behind my chair then putting his paws on my shoulders and licking my ear, standing behind the chair. Customers and bosses alike think it's hilarious.

I love it!! I used to worry a lot about it but when it happens it lets everyone's guard down.

my dog keeps barking at me every time I get into a new call lol, and if I put him out of the room he'll howl. Then I try to pick him up (he's a pomeranian) and he's all sweet and nice in front of the cam.
