Please Help Remove The Word JUST From My Vocabulary - Intentional Sales Language

I am a huge proponent of how our language influences the sales process and I feel like the word JUST is used too often and can be replaced with something better. I am really interested in the psychology / science of sales and how my language plays a role in the outcome of the opportunities I close / lose. Here are some examples...

Replacing the word BUT with the word AND

  • "We have the best widget, AND sometimes it's not the right solution for every scenario. Let's dive a little deeper into your project to make sure it's a good fit."

Using the word UPDATE instead of UPGRADE – it makes everything sound more affordable and attainable

  • Think about your smartphone…
  • Upgrading means you got a new device – Expensive
  • Updates come over the air, almost every day and cost nothing

Then there’s all the classics…

  • Price vs. Investment
  • Contract vs. Agreement
  • Customer vs. Client

---

So I am looking for you to help me find some words to replace the word JUST in my vocabulary.

  • “I’m just following up on…”
  • “I’m just calling to introduce myself”
  • “This is just…”

You get the idea.

"I'm JUST following up on..." = "I'm following up with you on"

"I'm just calling to introduce myself" = "I'm calling you to introduce myself"

You don't need a replacement. Just eliminate it and be direct.

I like to think you’re not JUST doing anything. There’s value behind what you’re doing.

Wasn't intentional lol but fuck you're right I put my foot in my own mouth. I won't edit and will keep so the plebs can learn.

"Simply" is my replacement for just in most cases.

I am simply following up.
I simply cannot pass up the opportunity to address xyz.
You are simply too late to get these free donuts.

I've used simply in the past and it feels like the natural choice for replacement.

Rubberband on your wrist. Every time you say that word snap the shit out of yourself.

Also, in most cases, remove "just" altogether. It is a useless word and its removal in most sentences makes your message more direct.

I agree with this too.

Another useless word is "THAT". There are only a few cases where it is needed, however most of the it can be eliminated as well.

There's a Chrome extension for this -

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/just-not-sorry-the-gmail/fmegmibednnlgojepmidhlhpjbppmlci?hl=en-US

But this can be fixed like most email mistakes - a second draft. You can type all the "justs" you want as long as you edit them out.

Imagine that for every "just", there's someone on the receiving end of the email saying "Oh well that doesn't sound important then" and moving on to the next email.

I'm back at it starting next month and I think I have 4-5 events before the year is out.
