Podcasts, have you ever done them?

Hey guys,

I was just invited over a Podcast to discuss the impact my company has over Africa. Great, thing is I don't know how to navigate it as its my 1st time and I also don't want to be simply a mouth piece for my company to just advertise the products. The goal is I want to be more of a thought leader because that way ill still be able to sell more but not because of my product but also because of my insights. I know small steps but that's basically my strategy and kinda my goals for 2020 2021.

How did you do it? What can you advise?

Who would you take more seriously as a listner?

down voters are marketing spies
Personal advice: after the first 2-3 times and running by my presentation/talking points by the company... I realized I had more success talking about my views, and experiences without the company filter. Unless they are talking specifically about YOUR company, or just in general what companies are doing, go for the informal aspects of it.ย

So, get your name out there, see if you can make it about yourself, views, thoughts on the future, region etc "as a thought leader" like you originally liked.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
Podcasts can lead to other podcasts. Talk about what you know. People don't give a shit about the product that you sell but they'll love to learn from you AND THEN learn about you and your product.

I said both (either) but to make sure if you're talking about your company get their permission. Especially after reading your other post about the $10k. Yikes.

The thing is they reached out to me to talk about my company...the company would be very happy of course to take free advertising. I wanna do it for me so using their product to be set my foot in this world I don't mind.
