Poll for Management : How often do we need to chase you?

I see a lot of managers, RVP's, AVP's, VP, head of sales in here. You are the best the answer this question.

When I sell into sales orgs I will be hitting you up on Linkedin, your email inbox, you might receive a phone call that you'll dodge.

The question here: If I send you a connection request on Linkedin with a clear message saying I want to speak with you to sell you our solution, and you accept the message, but there is no response. how often can I reach out to you before I need to give up ?

How often do I chase you before I need to move on?

I'm an RVP but the title comes with no power haha.  I have no directs and I don't make any purchasing decisions here.  I'm just an AE with RVP as the title because of the industry I'm in.  I get hit up all the time because people assume I rank higher in my company than I actually do.

When are you getting that AVP or VP promotion? no need to get direct hires.. just give yourself a linkedin promotion and a pat on the back

Not sure I understand the question, but either way I'll be chilling as an RVP as long as possible!  Good money and far less stress.

an RVP without direct hires is just an Account Executive, or sales rep. if the title doesn't match the role, then couldn't you make the role even higher? 🤣

Ah I see what you mean.  Well I don't think my boss would like me promoting myself.

And I'd disagree with the title not matching the role.  I work in fintech, so my customers are all banks.  The RVP title is to match up with a typical banking hierarchy, where a VP can basically mean anything, not necessarily a manager.

It can vary from bank to bank, but a common hierarchy is VP->SVP->Director->Managing Director or something similar.

I agree. However, after 7 linkedin touches and several calls and emails it gets to the point where I get ashamed to continue.

In my final messages I even tell them: "listen, i've reached out countless times now. if there's no time for this right now. also fine, let me know then I can reach out later".

I agree, you "can" do it as much as you want, but your time is also valuable and sometimes the horse doesnt want a drink, so move on. Im with you!
