[POLL] Music on the sales floor... what would you play?

What kind of music would you play on the sales floor?

We have a big speaker we use to play music all day long. It helps create energy and a good buzz for the reps on the floor.

Would music playing on the sales floor bother you?

My company had everyone create a custom Spotify playlist and they rotate whos playlist gets played throughout the office. We go from Elton John to Lil Wayne and it's amazing!

Okay this is a really good idea! We just all pick different music throughout the day but I like the idea of creating different playlists and rotating through them.

Some indie and beach rock music and then house in the afternoon. We're in San Diego and all in our mid 20s so it makes the most sense hahaΒ

Same here, got some Biebs going rn. This job has conditioned me to enjoy a lot of different artists/genres I hadn't been into before. Playlists are all over the place.

We used to do this pre-ipo, the old office was a big warehouse style floor, and those of us that went in early would crank music.Β

Yeah I like this! We always have the music a little louder as we come into the office and then turn it down just a little bit when it's time to start cranking dials. It seems to build up the energy and (most of) the team loves it.

Absolutely. Silence is deafening, and a lot of newer reps appreciate the "white noise" music provides in the background while practicing/perfecting their talk tracks.Β

Migos, Lil Wayne, anything E-40 or hyphy. TSwift makes it on the list tooΒ

We use gamification in the office. every time a deal gets closed, or business development gets a qualified lead their song would play for 10-15 seconds.Β

works great for end of month/quarter where there's random clips playing the entire day until midnight with dealing coming in last moment.

we never turned it off, so it's still blazing in the office as we speak while we're WFH.

I like this gamification! We also have the reps play their song when they get a deal.

It sounds like you are using something to automate this though... if so, what are you using?

I agree! Whenever the music stops playing you can totally tell a little bit of energy left the room.

Wouldn't prospects be able to hear the music over the phone?

We don’t run into this. Headsets with noise canceling microphones are the key here. And if they do hear anything they can’t tell it’s music and it acts as white noise.Β
