Poll : sales recruiters

Sales recruiter offered an opportunity way below of what I make, politely pointed out and told him that I make more. He argued that Glassdoor shows that I make less.

Would u take the time to deal with this?

When looking for a new opportunity it doesn't matter what you currently make or what you used to make. You have to sell yourself and demand the *reasonable* salary it would take for you to transition. You want me for this role? This is my rate.ย

If you have to educate the recruiter that glass door isnโ€™t always right, you probably donโ€™t want to take any opportunities from them.

Great point, I won't. Would you invest your time to help them by explaining this fact about Glassdoor?ย

Not me personally. I value my time way too much to do that especially given they likely have made no true efforts to understand what Iโ€™m looking for before reaching out with an opportunity.ย

I donโ€™t reward a half-assed effort. If they however make genuine and honest efforts to understand what a good opportunity for me is and then present one, I may educate them.ย

Value should always be exchanged for value.ย

I sent him to repvue, just felt like helping, but yea, it wasn't so smart to get into in hindsightย

Glassdoor can be wildly inaccurate.ย  Not sure why so many people swear by it.

No way - waste of time. They're clearly not good enough at their job to be helpful to you in the future. Hilarious that they think Glassdoor is a perfect source of information.ย

Yeah it would be a hard pass for me. Glassdoor shows you make less, seriously? That's a joke of a response coming from a recruiter.ย
