[Poll] Would you rather Manage or Sell? Advice?

A lot of you may have been asked this during your sales career. I've been helping with onboarding new hires lately and two potential paths are opening: move up the AE sales ladder or manage SDRs.

Personally, I don't think I can give up selling. I love the rush and feeling like the MVP when I'm on the leaderboard. I also think there's more money in selling vs. managing. I hear there's more stability with managing and apparently, I'm pretty good at it.

Which path did you take and why?

I fight this once and a while too. What I've determined is that if you have the itch to lead others you can still do it when you are selling. But (depending on the role) you can't really sell when you are managing others.

Exactly, it's hard to see a middle ground. And I'm kinda nervous if my performance is going to be dependent on others. I know what I'm capable of. I've never managed a team before.
