Popular vs new posts

Anyone else’s feed pretty much show the same list of posts in the “Popular” and “New” sections? Might have missed it in a previous update post but what is now considered “popular” - meaning what keeps a post at the top of the feed? Doesn’t seem to be upvotes or comments anymore, or maybe it refreshes daily? @sahil and/or @GeneralCorp any insight on this?

I was wondering if there was a stack ranking but then saw posts with upvotes and tons of comments sandwiched between, well not the above,  lol. But New definitely had more than popular and was different

Thanks for taking a look. I think it might be individual based, but who knows

Popular was showing the upvoted threads first. Now it's showing the same on my end too HC.

Yeah it's kind of tough for a post to get any significant traction with the change.

I always switch to newest posts anyway, the popular posts are always the same

We need more Redditers on here...that would solve the problem.
