Post month/quarter/year slump

Hey Savages

I am sure I'm not alone here in saying that I struggle with rebounding off of the end of quarter/month/year, specifically a good quarter/month/year. It doesn't always happen, but it often happens. The period will end and I'll be at the top of the world, then it's back to square one and my pipeline is empty because I've been focussed on closing out deals.

Then I take what can only be compared to a post-coetal smoke. I sit back and relish the good fortune and hard work that made the last sales period possible. I take my foot off the gas. I'm not proud of this. I don't LIKE that I do this.... but I do it nonetheless.

It often also corresponds with me getting fat for a bit. No surprise there either. I take my foot off the gas there too. Not as disciplined with my diet and exercise. Celebrating my success a little too much etc. etc.

I know some of you are out there.

I don't want to hear the following:

  1. You need to work better with your BDR to handle this situation so you're ready for the new quarter/month etc.
  2. You need to manage your calendar better and block off time to prospect
  3. You're a lazy bum AllSetDude - you need to be more disciplined. Guess you're not cut out for this sales savage life.

Honestly, I know I will get feedback like this and to it I say: 'thanks but no thanks.'

I wanna try something a little different.

I like that this is a community of like minded sales folks. And I've known enough sales reps over my years of experience to know that this is something others struggle with too.

I am proposing an idea: I want to see if people will join me. At the end of the quarter, will some of you savages commit, along with me, to work out together. Not physically together, but we can come on here and say "Hey, it's May 1 and it's time to get going. Go for a run, do a body weight exercise, go for a walk, hell, just stretch and post about it on here" I find that when I'm physically active I feel better and, in turn, I'm better at my job. I feel like this experiment could take off, like if I work out for week one of the new sales period that I will carry on, especially if there's a community I'm doing it with.

Let me know if you're like me and you're interested.
