We were participating at this exhibition. 2-3 Weeks before the exhibition, I noticed to get emails, messages and LinkedIn posts from people in the industry. Everyone saying something boring like: We will be at exhibition XYZ come visit us at booth 187.
I was thinking: don't bother me with this shit... but then I thought... oh well i see this and i now know they will be there and i might remember them in the long run ... (Making contact...)
I thought I have to blast out a bunch of messages too...
So i made this short concise message to invite all my contacts asking them what they want to drink at our booth, because i will send my intern to buy drinks to hand out at our booth... I left it with a Just Kidding - at my company the sales director has to do this himself...
Result of it: I had a pretty good response rate, made contact with people who haven't responded to me before and put a smile on a lot of peoples face before our initial meeting. I actually got a few meetings set up after the show with companies that didn't make it to the event.
