Same. A fair price is how we do business.

Now if you want to start talking multi-year, then we have something interesting to discuss.

Real discounts or a "discounted price" which isn't really discounted at all?
I personally don't like discounting at all. I prefer to present my best price, which is fair to all parties.

Iโ€™m talking about real discounts, outside the standard discount.

Not one dime. I've turned away prospects fishing for discounts. Typically the ones that you discount turn out to be the biggest pain in the butt. We use fair pricing to begin with and apply it across the board.

Had someone trying to get me to cut 20% recently because "everyone else we've spoken with about this is 20% cheaper" I told her that we're rarely as low as other vendors and that we are okay with it because we invest more into quality.

It's been a good strategy for winning lifetime clients. They know they're paying more but they also know they're getting more out of it.

Have unfortunately been forced into discounting by prior management, but will always try to get an incentive out of it (time commitment, referrals, etc)

Always slinging discounts for net new accounts since there is so much room for upsell

Never provide any discount unless you get a counterpart for it.

For me, it will generally be because of a time commitment paid upfront.

As little as possible, but am willing to discount for multi-year deals.

I try very hard not to but I deal in trucking and itโ€™s very hard to not because the owners that sign my contracts always expect a better number since they get haggled with by their customers. Also our price point is based on a per driver fee so usually we have 1 or 2 dollars to play with knowing the negotiation is coming

I never discount.

If they want a discount, I probably missed the mark somewhere in my process.

I have the flexibility to make my own prices. I will pay the customer (in the form of a discount) in exchange for something. I'll shave a few hairs off if you are willing to give me a quote I can use with other prospects, a few more if you can be my industry contact for others who have questions they want to be reassured of. If you can do more volume, or if you can offer a referral.

But never an outright, here's some money off the original offer just because you asked.

Feel like it sets a bad precedent.

I don't usually discount, but when I do... it's never a multiple of 5%
