Pros/Cons to being a 1099 worker

Wassup Fam,

Received an offer today and I was curious from the WR perspective.

New company wants to offer me the job but they typically pay people as 1099/ independent contractors because it is more cost effective for them.

I've looked up the pros and cons on this and I'm curious if anyone here is either on this type of engagement or have been and the pros/cons to it?

Thanks in advance

Update : We met today and agreed to do full time employment. Benefits and all.

Knowing what I know about the US, I'd never go1099.

It's great to see your update - FT with bennies and all that is key.

Are you going to take it?

I think youโ€™d already know the pros/cons on this.

Contract end date comes close, so will your stress.
Even if it makes sense for them, can you not talk about it being a full time thing?

It is full time employment. Itโ€™s more so a matter of costs to set me up as an employee

I can be a full time employee. I have 2 options really. Full time or 1099 itโ€™s just for payment but it would be full time either way

Ahh got it. Welp wish I could help more Iโ€™ve ever only been full time. My head says get the Bennieโ€™s, doing that independently is spendy

I will never work 1099 again. Benefits are too important now that I've got a family.
