Prospecting and where the WR goes to find leads

I'm curious as an AE what BDRs do now to prospect and where they find their leads and have success stories?

For me google is always a great tool for finding out about clients and what their marketing teams are doing and I go to my competitors forums to find where unhappy clients are.

I also have an account list assigned but for the most part thats garbage.

So what plans to you guys make to find new business and open up accounts?

I actually use Zoominfo right now to find good companies then use linkedin to find people for the company.

I sell into Higher Ed mostly so for me its quite easy, every school has a directory on their website and there are forums for teachers which are gold mines. Sometimes the info is behind a log in wall in which case I will do some further digging or go to ZoomInfo

Seriously it's where I go to get student count, expenses per student, student-teacher ratio, and other info.ย

I've found that getting a list from ZoomInfo isn't fairly effective. I find a reason to reach out to somebody and build a list from there.

- Are they in a specific group in LinkedIn?
- Are they registered for a certain event?ย
- Did they like someones post on LinkedIn that's relevant?
- Did they write an article, appear on a podcast, or do something else
- Did they leave a poor G2 review for a competitor

Bucket these people into individual campaigns and then do your outreach

Our clients are brick and mortar SMBs. I find them on Alignable, Google Maps, in Facebook groups, and on LinkedIn.
This week I found a lead on Alignable, booked a demo through text message and it was pitched the same day.
