Prospecting based on past company

After reading some posts here about what not to do while prospecting on LinkedIn, I've been thinking of ways to get creative. I started prospecting based on Past Company, and if the person at one point worked at a company that is our current customer.

How would you bring this up in initial outreach messaging to a relevant prospect? Maybe omething general like "I saw you worked for <company>, did you  have a chance to use <product>?" then go into the value prop and how we help that company?

That is basically exactly what I say. “Understand you worked for <> in a past life. <> is a current  customer of ours, did you ever interact with <your company> while you were there?

If yes - ask about experience and knowledge

If no - quick blurb about what their old company uses you for exactly and then pivot that into your value prop for their current role and current company

ONLY DO THIS IF:
- You confirm they did not leave because your tool got brought on
- Their old company has good/healthy adoption

Another pro tip - you can see who follows your company on LI, and can filter your searches that way. Makes it much easier to find people who used your tool in a past life.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
This is hyper-effective in my experience, especially if that person's tenure at the previous company was 3+ years long.

If anything, I feel like I can relate to them more, I wouldn't want emails from marketing too. Fair game.

As far as cadence its hard to say without knowing the industry or size of your prospect, but gross assumption would say once a week right now. More frequent if smaller.
