Prospecting & cell phones..

With everyone still working from home due to COVID, when finding info via a data tool (ZoomInfo is mine) are you making calls to cell phones that are provided?

I've been coming across a lot of leads who only have a corp HQ and Cell Phone and curious what the groups consensus is here.

Are you cold calling cell phones?

Especially if they have their mobile in their email signature, it's a no-brainer for me.ย

And if anyone freaks out on you, just explain that you're still working from home so assumed they were too and you wanted to make sure you reached them with this amazing pitch!ย

I was skittish about calling cells early on in this mess, but now I call them all the time.ย  If I've emailed with them before, I check and see if their cell is listed in their email signature.ย  Many are.ย  If it is, then they should have no problem getting calls to their cell.ย  Also, lots of people still don't have call forwarding set up for their office line, so it might be the only way to reach them by phone.ย  It's worked out well for me, and I'm commonly on a texting relationship with C-suite folks as a result.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
Keep in mind that the majority of people with desk phones are forwarding them anyway. People mostly won't notice that you called their cell.

I would guess you'll irritate 2/100 people. You'll reach way more than though so I think the juice is definitely worth the squeeze.

I think this depends on the prospect you're selling to. Mine never left the office, so I will always call them there directly first. If they give me their cell phone number, I will switch to that permanently.ย

Calling a mobile phone is a no-brainer. When I was a BDR had the most success with mobiles. Only once did I get told to fuck off. Not bad odds in my world.ย

Cell phones are fair game.

You might just deal with a few more annoyed prospects than usual.
