Prospecting on LinkedIn

We all are getting blasted from InMail messaging on LinkedIn, right?


How many "connections" offer to solve problems that have literally nothing to do with you or your company? (Almost half of the messages I receive are so poorly targeted...)


I use LinkedIn for prospecting as well, but it's very targeted and it is usually in coordination with other prospecting efforts.


Who else uses LinkedIn for prospecting? How frequently? What works best?

I do a multi-channel approach.
I don't connect then pitch on LinkedIn. I start by engaging with their post/comment, let it simmer for a bit.

I am a fan of this approach as well.

Do you end up pitching via Linked-In at all after some engagement?ย  Or do you use another channel for the pitch?

I pitch the about meeting to have a conversation (not about my product/solution) on LI after some engagement and have booked several meetings from it.ย

I usually only refer to linkedin for prospecting if I want to double check a job title to confirm.

I follow an omnichannel approach, which has a couple of LinkedIn touches. I always start by asking a question or talking about a recent post of theirs (this works wonders if you know what you're talking about) but it's not possible to do this at scale. How do you intrigue them without being salesy?
