Yes, every time. It's a courtesy to my customers.

If it's just one or two days I don't bother. Mainly because I know I'm going to be checking my phone anyway.

However, if I'm going somewhere without cell service (I know, they do actually exist) then I will add one.

If you're taking more than a day of PTO- it only makes sense to set up an auto-reply just for the courtesy of letting the person know not to expect an immediate response.

Doesn't mean you can't still respond but gives you the ability to take your time.

Absolutely. It's the right thing to do for myself, and my customers.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
Yes, to email and no to phone (though I sometimes turn it off). But it's not like I stop checking my phone. We are in sales after all.

Always.  Added benefit is, they get your automatic email - and if you feel you can answer/help without fully logging in to work, I always felt that was a nice touch to answer them anyway.

After getting an OOO, if someone responds shortly after; feels like they're going the extra mile.

Sometimes. Depends on the duration/location of the PTO.

Unfortunately, I don't take a ton of PTO, one family vacation a year really.  Tough to disconnect my brain from the puzzle.  When I am OOO, I rarely put my OOO on, as I usually find a way to respond to those who need responding in the same day as the request.

I always put it on, but normally have my work phone with me on days off, unless I am out of the country.

That way I can ignore the things I don't want to deal with until I am back 'online' and still answer things I deem urgent enough.

Always working...

My VP doesn’t even care if we request time off anymore because he knows we’ll always be taking care of shit or accessible...just the nature of my business...

Every-time, even if its a few hour block. I dont want my calendar to show availability for a client/prospect to book at meeting with me if I'm away.

It sets the right expectation with your customers/prospects if you set an OOO because if you do not, they expect your regular response times.

I am not trying to answer as quick as I would if I were working when I am drinking on a beach.

Yea, I do it so when I reply they feel special but gently remind them that im taking time away for them. You don't want anyone to take you for granted.

Yup so I don't get accused of ignoring people.
