Q for folks in Canada

If I decide to transition to another company where I have to join in 2 weeks, what's the best strategy to put down the resignation and also utilise all the pending leaves as I won't get paid for those.

Do you have unlimited PTO, or are you given x weeks of time off? Most times when you leave a company they have to pay you out for the time off you've accrued/have not taken.

Quit on the last day and burn the bridge if you're really concerned about it.

Thanks @poweredbycaffeine No unlimited PTO. Have a few accrued that haven't been used. Let see how it would work.

What's your notice period specified in your contract? There may also be a clause the tells you they expect you to take your holiday prior to leaving. Otherwise as @poweredbycaffeine they pay you out. 2 weeks extra pay can be a tidy little bonus.

No guidelines are mentioned on the offer letter hence I was a bit concerned, best would to talk to the HR I guess. Thanks @InQ5WeTrust .

Ehh I wouldn't bring it up personally, they have to pay out your holiday.

Unless you'd rather take the time off.

Yikes.  Well, if you have to give 2 weeks notice you're screwed, it's already too late.  You try to start taking time off, after giving notice and they'll walk you off site same day.  If you know you're giving notice in a month, then book time off ASAP and enjoy it, if that's really what you want to do

If its vacation accrual, as long as it isn't in your contract that it won't be paid out after a certain point, then legally speaking they HAVE to give it to you and you fight them on it if not.  You'll win every time.

If it's just sick days, then let em go dude/dudette.  Professional integrity/reputation is so much more important than a few days here and there.
