Quota raised 40%

So my company was acquired by Blackstone in 2023 and we missed our targer in 2024 by about 4%.
Quotas for this year were massively delayed for my team. I literally received it yesterday.
My quota went from 700k to 1M.
I missed my number last year by about 40k. our ADS is 30k. Everyone on my team's quota were given massive hikes despite the fact only 3/15 hit their number.
In addition, I was promoted from RSM to RSD in Q2 of last year and was told that the raise would be coming in Q1. I get my raise and it's less than I was given in 2024.
They also messed with my comp plan in terms of MYDs. I now get paid half of what I did on those as well.
We sell SaaS for events and I just have no clue how they can justify all of this given the current economic climate.
Anyone else getting similar stuff from their companies?

Welcome to the world of private equity ownership.

What you don’t see is that their next play will be cutting “low performers”. So despite the lack of attainment last year, and increase to quota this year, you and your team are all at risk.

If you aren’t currently interviewing you should probably start.

Ain't that the truth.

But I've had this quota jump happen with no acquisition and a new product that didn't have what it was legally required to for it to fulfill the requirements of my customers...

Yeah a real head scratcher there. I guess some companies just believe they are required to raise quotas every year.

Way back when I was an AM our monthly quotas were $25k. A year later they were almost $50k. Within 5 years they were over $150k per month.

Just insanity. And no clue about what reality entails.

The insane part is that the teams kept hitting the increased numbers 🤯

Private Equity exists to extract as much wealth as they can from a business before closing its doors forever. Start interviewing ASAP.

Events are on the rise, so there's a lot of optimism on Conference attendance, etc. Bumping up your quota by like 40%+ is rough and I would like to see how THEY justify this. A 20% quota bump would make your quota ~850k.

Obviously being owned by a PE/PV firm could account for the higher quota. Its rough when that happens. But again, I would ask how they are justifying the extreme quota bump.

I’ve tried asking but unfortunately my leadership is filled with absolute corporate shills. It sucks cause 6 months ago this was my favorite role I’ve ever had. Now I cant find anyone that’s happy here.

Sr PubSec AE - in the market
Rambo nailed it. Start interviewing. There’s $$ to be made selling in the PE world, but usually by the last man or woman standing.
I don’t share the optimism on events, but that might just be because I’m public sector focused, and we’ve got a travel moratorium for our clients at the moment. Wouldn’t be surprised to see conference attendance plummet if the market keeps acting like the first hill on a roller coaster.
Take heart that you’re still in a decent place - employed, good story to tell about last year, and a good reason for looking. Every recruiter and sales manager out there knows PE’s reputation. Good luck.
