Received an Offer from Okta for an Enterprise AE - Any advice?

Hello Savages,

First off I'm hoping this doesn't break the 'No recruiting' rule.

Just looking for advice about Okta from any current or former AE's who have experience there. I received an offer from them recently and am considering all possibilities. Any advice is appreciated - thank you!

Okta is a phenomenal company. They just acquired Auth0, have a great CEO in Todd, and I've heard great things about their sales team from others in network. I'd jump at this opportunity, assuming the comp / territory is what you want!

Congrats!

take it. okta is a product of the future... as more and more companies switch to hybrid or remote employee experience, remote security will be more and more important. great company to join! we are purchasing okta and implementing next quarter.

Practically every company I'm selling to these days is using Okta (and I'm actually in a sales cycle with them currently). Great company and they seem quite invested in their employee culture.

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
This is actually a good point though. Okta's growth (according to their financials) has slowed a decent amount because of how large their presence is.

@Go_Dukes Check out RepVue. It's like Glassdoor but specifically for sales people. So it'll have info stuff like quota attainment, lead flow, product market fit, etc.

I have experience there, personally I would take it. They just got new leadership, expanded in to two new markets, and made a tech acquisition.

I've heard great things. You should look up reviews online. Just be sure to take with a grain of salt. Also it sounds like folks here are in favor for you!

I compete with them :) I would take it, though. Reps always seem happy and like they know their stuff. We win some; they win some. The ones we've lost customers have seemed happy with the decision (we have some products that play well with others, so even if we lose this slice we still compete for other security business).

Okta is an amazing program so I can vouch for it as a user. Seem to be innovating in a health way too.

Great product, and like many others have said, the Auth0 acquisition means that their biggest competition is now an ally. Everyone needs identity, but few can built it properly.

I don't have any advice...but Go Dukes!

I actually interviewed with them, but didn't get very far. Seems like a good company based on my research.

Take it. Enterprise at OKTA will be insane. Their recent acquisitions, the move to remote (2fa) and more and more companies adding them to tech stack essentials, it will be a huge opportunity. well done!
