Recession talk tracks

Well howdy. Although today is showing a brief run, I'm sure most of you are still feeling the woes of the economic slowdown. Of course, it's mostly at the C level where the hammer gets brought down, so I wanted to ask you savages what talk track has been working best for you at that level?


I know this will depend on the industry, but for my industry, it's all around upskilling the workers they have and "doing more with less" [people]. Are there any tactics you've been using in your outreaches that have been successful? And while you're meeting with them, how do you break through the objections around tightening budgets?

I would say the only thing I change is more focus on budget approval and ROI.

I would assume for your industry the big talking points is the increase in productivity for employee's upskilled, amount of new hires needed if their is not an increase in productivity, cost of new hire, and cost of pushing out projects due to lake of talent supporting it

but i would suggest changing your message from "helping you grow" to "helping you accomplish more with what you have"

No talk track here yet at all, just an internal acknowledgement that time kills deals, so tighten up the sales cycle where possible.

Efficiency and streamlining processes are generally good talk tracks in any environment, but resonate when the belts start to tighten.
