References from C Suite

Want to see how everyone approaches this. When you connect with someone at the C-level who lets you know that they are going to put you in touch with someone on their team who will be evaluating your product.

Do you reach out to that person that will be responsible right away and mention the conversation? Or follow up with the reference in order to have them connect the two of you?

I give the C-Suite a reasonable amount of time to pass my info on, usually a week. If I don't hear from the appropriate person I reach out to them directly and mention that I spoke with C-Suite and they wanted me to reach out to them directly. If I don't hear back from that person I will reach back out to the C-Suite/cc them on the email.

I'm in that exact situation right now. It's been a week and haven't heard anything, so will need to reach out to them directly next week and name drop the C-level person

i would call on monday notify the secretary that you will need some time then call back the next day to book it. if you tell them what the plan is then no ones upset when things go according to the plan

Depends on how the convo went, but if the c-suite refers me to a VP in charge of handling what my product solves I will call them up and mention I just got off the line with the C'X'O and he pointed me in your direction. If they don't answer I will fire off an email saying the exact same thing.

Yeah I think that this is the move. Gotta always remember to pull info on who you're being referred to.ย

I call immediately and say "hey the first name your boss want's us to begin the process, I have time today or tomorrow morning otherwise I'm booked for 2 weeks! I'm pretty sure he wanted feedback before then, I'm so sorry for the short notice, can we make it work?
