Referral Networks

I recently talked with a coworker who found a niche sales referral channel in slack, and was wondering if anybody else has experience with these?

I am currently employed but am shopping around, and I also know that the best way to get a foot in the door is through referrals. Just curious if anybody has any resources for finding these.

Interesting concept. It's great to receive referrals, but how many people want to refer those they haven't really vetted?

Although, I guess it is similar to reaching out on LI and asking about a referral along with getting an idea of what the place/role is like..

For me, this comes from knowing people who have essentially made a side hustle from referring people to their company lol. They would just post on Linkedin and Facebook and refer any and everybody to get that referral bonus

I've found one in which they release new job openings prior to them going live online or Linkedin etc. Not sure how I feel about it as a lot of those openings had 100's of applications for them to already be filled via a network.

If the community has a solid foundation and is closely knit "members only" kind of a thing, it may be pretty cool. But I know, many of these channels want to ultimately increase their reach so the quality of the referrals, responses, job postings, it'll all diminish.

If it works for you great! If I were you, I'd see the opening, ping them separately, and hope for the best.

Also, great first post @GreenRake!! I am sure you've checked out other posts and know that this is an anonymous sales platform with some of the best Sales folks.

Just to add; this isn't LinkedIn, you can go as detailed as you want, focus on providing value.
