Relationships matter.... ALWAYS

What's up War Room!! Happy Friday.

Advice for the newer or maybe younger reps...

I'll say it again relationships matter... ALWAYS... Well I've only been in size text sales for 3 years I've always valued the relationships I've built across every vertical. To some degree because I value those relationships so much I am where I am today which is in a pretty cushy well-paying BDM position.

My advice is treat every client like they're your biggest client. I'm not saying don't go above and beyond and spend extra time with customer service stuff because you still have a number to hit but nevertheless the words you say and the way that you choose to act towards your champions and buyers could also bear fruit in the future. When I was in personal training one of my clients happened to also be the recruiting manager that brought me into my first SaaS company.

One of my smaller clients at that first company is now one of my biggest clients at my newest company and all because I chose to continue to advance the great relationship that I had whether they were paying six figures or not.

Moral of the story you can't predict the future... Yes we all have a number to hit but be kind to your fellow humans build great relationships and keep nurturing those relationships relentless.

Sorry if today was long-winded lol... Salud!!

I agree but want to build on this that adding value is the key to a customer picking up your phone call even after they've moved to a new company.ย

Having a great time over steaks is fun, but when you elevate your customers and create career opportunities for them because they chose you, its valuable for the long haul.

Awesome post, @Panda4489ย !

Haha fair enough. I always talk about making deposits (kinda clichรฉ but true) to tee up the withdrawal. Relationship + value = a big ass house for your fam haha

It's absolutely true though. Deposit your time, your positive energy, your valuable consultative ideas, etc... That will pay dividends if not now, definitely in the future

I think we can agree that it's very difficult to build great relationships if you're an asshole

We're salespeople at the end of the day - we're not hired for our product knowledge, we're hired for our inter-personal skills.ย
Relationship building has to be a key part of the job, or else they'd just build a load of robots
