If I had a job based off my GPA I wouldn’t have a job. I hated school and wanted to make money. If Hilary is interviewing people with 10 years experience and asking for GPA then he’s probably missing out on some great talent… whatever his loss. My favorite saying “ I try to see things from his point of view but I worry about what my chiropractor would say from injuring myself for trying to fit my head that far up my ass.”

No marketing, mayo isn't an MQL
I've been screened multiple times based on having X degree, never had a job ask for my degree.

Another hot take, Having a college degree in my sales career is totally useless and not needed. would have loved to have graduated high school and become a BDR making money instead of incurring debt

I don’t know what Earth Hilary lives on, but outside of college admission, I’ve never had my GPA checked or questioned. Maybe it’s some multiverse version.
Additionally, I think the point of the post was to be a good user.
End of line.

The man is definitely a bit of a twisted dildo, but it’s worth mentioning most of us here are in sales. I am prepared to believe that some of the most prestigious positions at places like the big 4 consulting firms, or Silicon Valley software may check GPA. Idk if that’s true or not but it sounds realistic to me.
.
The difference is sales is frequently an equation of EQ, maturity, and showmanship. Based on maturity and GPA- I’m arguably the worst hire ever. I went to post-secondary to party, not for an education. And yet I am the very best, that no one ever was.
.
I know how to fake EQ, show, and sell well, and that’s really all my employers care about. Potentially not the case in STEM fields.

Pretty sure you can just put whatever you want on your resume and LinkedIn and people will just go with it. That’s how I got into Harvard.

I mean if you're in a technical role like engineering I'd say it's incredibly important. Sales? No. Most jobs? No.

I work at supply chain/logistics. Haven’t heard anyone, even the people in actual logistics operations where they look for engineers, got asked about their GPAs. And I’m talking about the biggest 3PL and/or ecom players. Unless you don’t have any other experience to show for and it’s not a paid internship, but specialist level etc, maybe. But other than that, no. Though FMCG can sometimes be a “brand university” club. Maybe they’re the exceptions for this area.

D's get degrees.

No one gives a shit as long as your name is on the paper.

What do they call the guy that finishes Med school at the bottom of his class? Doctor. (hopefully not yours)

I had a recruiter ask me about my GPA for a fucking AE job. I was in school 4.5 years ago and have had 4 years of professional experience.

Told him to kick rocks

How can people actually think that’s an important detail? So so stupid. They should ask how far into student loan debt you are, way more relevant question

You gotta justify your 3 different masters degrees. And prove how more educated you are than everybody else lol.

I graduated from undergrad with 3.21, and got my master’s with 2.0. So far nobody gave a flying fuck about either of those, they mostly cared about the fact that I was holding two diplomas. Wtf.

Unless you are going to be a Lawyer, Doctor, or maybe engineer - your GPA may be the most irrelevant statistic measured in life.

What was your first sales role that made you realize you were born to do this? Mine was girl scouts and moving way more cookies than the rest of my fellow brownies
