I currently work from home and enjoy the flexibility and freedom that remote work brings. Additionally, the commute to and from the office is a grind and will never be the preferred way for me to spend time.
That being said, working in the office alongside other people and collaborating with them "in the room" is hard to replicate. Sitting in meetings with people to pick up on context cues and body language can never be replaced by zoom meetings. Overhearing co-workers navigate complex deal cycles and overcome objections is priceless.
When all is said and done I feel like remote work will ultimately be an option but employers (and most employees) will opt for a return to the office. It's just a matter of time.
