Resumes are meaningless. Reach out to the hiring manager directly and use that sales skill to land a job!

Honestly I probably wouldnโ€™t read the resume if it had a headshot.ย

- Always use complete sentences on your resume.

-I would say less than 5yrs of experience keep it to 1 page. More than 5 you can probably take 2. (this also depends on how many jobs you have had)

- donโ€™t fluff too much. I can almost always tell during the interview.

With you all the way on this take.ย

Headshots on resumes have 0 benefit in 98% of roles/situations. More of a detriment in actuality - honestly might get laughed at, regrettably.

Well formatted resume, complete sentences, crisp, clean, encompassing your experience, achievements, and skills - no more, no less.

Iโ€™ve actually never done this. However wouldnโ€™t this pose some resistance from HR? I canโ€™t imagine companies want resumes with headshots ย

In my experience, itโ€™s not that uncommon in sales and marketing and makes sense to include in a customer facing role but I totally get the hesitation and alternate point of view.

Is there a real benefit?

I do not really see a benefit behind this in sales. This might play better for those in the creative fields applying for roles in marketing.

Marketers don't want head shots either.ย

I have seen some low level ones in the UI/UX space of marketing use headshots before but definitely to each their own in terms of preference.ย

Headshots are really only acceptable on resumes for positions where your looks 100% matter - think modeling, acting, etc. Otherwise, it's tacky and will actually detract from your resume.ย

Fair, iโ€™ll update it accordingly. Didnโ€™t expect so many ๐Ÿ‘Ž but the crew has spoken.

Yeah Iโ€™m surprised by all the negative opinions too. I wouldnโ€™t have thought it would hurt. Worst case, theyโ€™ll remember you with a visual rather than just another name on a paper.ย

I donโ€™t understand why but sure. Iโ€™m not talking a full page headshot here. Iโ€™m talking a small linkedin-style head shot in the upper right corner next to my contact info... But everyone seems to be shitting on me for it so ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

You do you my man. I, personally, just feel like if I was going through sales resumes and saw a headshot Iโ€™d think itโ€™s a little strange.

100% agree with Sahil that resumes are meaningless. The recruiter/company can just go to my Lnkd profile. Got my tech sales job without a resume. I'm interviewing for a VC role and didn't have to submit a resume.

Seems like most comments have said this already, but I'll opine as well - I'd leave a headshot off of your resume. As someone who's built a few teams and looked at many resumes, a headshot only strikes me as fluff. I care about your skills and relevant experience, not the way you look.

If you are a white male then who is good looking and not chubby the statistics say go for that was based on my labour economics course. You increase your chances of getting hired if you are not then ignore it.
Sorry but it's the world we live in and I want you to get employed.
