Resume Question - Low Team Achievment

Here's the deal War Room.

Starting to look at new opportunities, and although I was top performer in my role and got promoted, I haven't closed anything in my first 5 months in the role. Partly ramping a completely new territory from scratch, and part company going through a rough patch. There are ZERO reps on pace to hit plan, highest achiever is at 20% coming to end of H2.

How do I position this on a resume where it doesn't look like I'm an underachiever who is dodging the question, but rather a competent sales rep who needs a better opportunity?

Bonus points for any advice for once the interview happens (assuming it does).

Highlight the fact you have built a new territory from scratch. What you think is negative can be positive ๐Ÿ˜‰

Agree here.

Also, Highlight your sales PROCESS.โ€ฆhow are you different than other reps and what is going to make you succeed? (Your time management, time blocking, prospecting process, managing your accounts, calls & emails per day, pipeline generated, etc.)

Yeah great call-out. I have some stuff listed in the "skills" section to that degree, but will be key to touch on in interview process as well. Thanks

It's all about the story you can tell.

You don't need to put your performance in your last role on the resume - just get a call/meeting and sort it then.

Put how your rank vs how much you closed. #1 rep looks better than 20% to quota (but better than everyone else!)

Your resume is what YOU want to put on it. Donโ€™t lie, but you donโ€™t have to share everything.
Highlight you previous performance and omit the things you donโ€™t want to share.

The story goes how you tell it.

For me I say - I closed the most deals of anyone in our 25 person team
- I sourced the most logos
- I brought in the most meetings
- Amongst a 20% avg quota attainment I doubled that at 50% despite the demoralizing circumstances. I am highly adaptable gritty, and don't let what is out of my control get me down. I'm a savage.
-put me with the wolves and I lead the pack

You get the jist - frame it properly. also check out my guide here

For sure say rank or any awards you won. Any quarter/month you did well is on the resume which will be your answer. If they ask for the year, tell the story

Normally yes expect something but it honestly depends on your company. Helpful, I know.

Depends - are you inheriting customers or open opps?
