Resumes - what should you highlight?

What do you highlight & include on your resume as you update it?

I'm an AE applying for other AE jobs - my guess is I should focus on that work, and be in depth about what I accomplished in my relevant roles. Does this mean I should remove the in-depth attainment metrics from my BDR roles? Keep it? Would love everyone's thoughts on this.

Attainment. If your attainment isn’t consistent, then average attainment. I don’t have my old SDR attainment though, just AE.

Agreed. If you did very well as a BDR do include some attainment highlights but you don't need to go too in depth if you're applying for AE roles. Keep the primary focus on what you've accomplished there.

Specific deals you've closed with XYZ company. If you can speak to these in detail it helps.

I wouldn't remove your experience as a BDR. When hiring AEs I always looked at what they did before, especially if it involved being a BDR/SDR. That told me they would be able to work with those roles for instance!

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
How long have you been selling? If under 5 years, I'd have at least one thing about being a BDR. I still have it on my resume 9 years later just because it helps tell the story.

Treat your resume like the MVP of a product. List (3) major problems you’ve solved into wins for your customers - it could be any tech stack or product.

Attainment and anything else measurable. I would keep your successes even as a BDR just to show historical successes. Less fluff, more numbers.

Tailor your resume to the position/company to which you are applying.  It should scream "I fill your need."  Use their jargon, their KPI's, etc...   You got this!
